Stone Hill Design Associates, Inc. was asked to develop a Master Plan that restored the original gardens with the introduction of new site amenities. An old boxwood allee, 100-year old oaks and tulip poplars, and existing saucer magnolias provided inspiration for the landscape restoration. The designers reintroduced a rose garden, a cutting garden, a magnolia garden and restored several perennial borders and beds. Stone Hill Design Associates was involved in all phases of the project, including site analysis, master planning, construction documentation, and on-site construction administration. Working closely with the project Architects and the client, Stone Hill sited the new pool house, pool, and terraces. Nestled into the hillside, the pool house reflects the character of the adjacent carriage house and horse stable. Flagstone paving set in lawn and an informal planting scheme further enhance the casual setting. Seating areas were located to optimize the sweeping views of meadows, grasslands, and horse paddocks. |
