Substantial additions to the house required Stone Hill Design Associates, Inc. to redefine the exterior spaces based on the scale of the building and the needs of the new owners. The distinctive architecture of this house, along with its prominent position on the hilltop, posed several challenges and opportunities for a successful renovation.

The driveway and front guest parking were embellished with the addition of low brick walls, bluestone paving, and cobble edging. A generously sized Copper Bay stone patio with a built-in grill completes the outdoor dining and entertainment needs of the owners.

The necessity for a retaining wall into the rear hillside offered the perfect setting for a perennial/cutting garden that is viewed from all interior rooms across the back of the house. Additional stairs at the end of the wall provides access to the upper lawn and pool.

Decorative pots, window boxes, patio furniture and outdoor lighting were selected for the finishing touches throughout the exterior design.
